The charcoal drawing from a model is a captivating artistic technique that allows the artist to create expressive and detailed images. The creations were made on a textured paper surface, initially sketched with charcoal and soft pencil, serving as a solid foundation for the further development of the drawing (the brush handle serving as a tool for measurements).

The process included creating subtle shadows and lights, with attention to details and finesse for depth, achieved through the strategic addition and removal of charcoal, contributing to outlining the subject. The surface, prepared with a thin layer of fixative, aided in the adhesion of charcoal, preventing accidental smudging.
Charcoal, in stick form, was sharpened to achieve different line thicknesses—the transition between lines, shadows, and brighter areas being depicted with the help of a tissue, sponge, and even fingers—finer details being rendered with a thinner charcoal.
Charcoal drawing offers flexibility to the artist, allowing them to create contrast, textures, and expressiveness. The completed works were protected by applying a fixative, serving to prevent smudging or fading of the charcoal.
